HOPES is managed by a Committee of Management that meets regularly, and is reviewed at the Annual General Meeting.
President
Sue Hodgson has had over 25 years experience living and working with people with acquired brain injury, having co-founded Headway Tasmania in 1986, and then becoming a founding member of HOPES in 1993.Sue has a Bachelor of Education Degree, and a Masters Degree in Social Science (social research).She currently chairs the Ministers Disability Advisory Committee and is passionate about the rights of people with disability to live productive lives in the community.

David Pearce OAM JP has been a member of the HOPES committee for several years. He is a graduate from the University of Tasmania, and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History. David has a strong background in Human Rights, Ethics and Service Provision to persons living with disability. David is a serving Alderman on the Glenorchy City Council, and has received several awards for services to people with disability and the community, including The Medal of The Order of Australia (OAM), and the "Shine On Rotary International Award".

For the last ten years I have been a member of the committee supporting HOPES both in the role of secretary and/or treasurer. I have had many years experience working in the Aged Care sector with people who have dementia and am now the Educator at Alzheimers Australia. My involvement with HOPES began while I was supporting a person with ABI and investigating alternative living arrangements for them.

Jill Beckingsale
Jill is a director of e3i Pty Ltd, a research company which provides a wide spectrum of information related services to a national and international client base. Jill writes literature reviews and comprehensive reports for a range of government projects; prepares background briefing papers for policy development for all tiers of government; conducts and analyses surveys; and prepares grant applications.
Denise Hamilton
Denise has worked as a professional in disability support services for the past 24 years both in Tasmania and in Queensland. She has a broad experience having worked in many areas of service delivery and development within the disability services sector, both in Government and Non Government agencies. Denise has a particular interest in working with individuals with disability and their families to create good lives for themselves in the community.
Geraldine Harwood
Geraldine has been a member of HOPES for some years and brings experience of the disability sector to HOPES through her position as CEO of Optia Incorporated, an innovative statewide service providing a range of accommodations options for people with a disability. Geraldine is passionate about people living with a disability having community involvement, responsibilities and experiences that enhance their lives and that of the community in which they reside.
Mary Langdon
Mary has worked in the community services sector spanning almost 30 years. From hands on roles supporting people with disabilities, to executive management positions. Mary has a Bachelor of Arts Degree and an Honours Degree (Sociology) from the University of Tasmania. She has a strong interest in social justice issues and is passionate about the role of HOPES in the Tasmanian community and the positive outcomes achieved by HOPES for individuals with disability. Mary was previously on the Committee of HOPES for a number of years, and after returning from working in North Queensland for 16 months, is now delighted to be back on the Committee.
Barbara Olsen
Barbara has been working in the disability sector for the past 20 years. She is currently the Client Service Manager for Cerebral Palsy Tasmania, responsible for services state-wide; is on the Board of Management of Montagu Community Living; and has previously worked for Cosmos and Tascare Society for Children. She has specialized in the Arts for people with a disability and is the recipient of the inaugural David Helfgott Award for her contribution to performing arts for people with a disability.
