HOPES Inc COVID-19 Update

We would like to take the opportunity to provide an update on the measures we are taking to protect residents, clients and staff here at HOPES.

There is a lot of concern around the spread of the coronavirus within the Tasmanian community and the effect it could have, particularly on those most vulnerable. We share these concerns.

In response to these concerns and to follow the advice of state and federal agencies, we have made the following operational changes:

• Stopping all HOPES Inc groups and activities including our monthly residents’ meetings
• Closing our community gym during this time
• Minimising non-essential visiting to residents and theHOPES site in general
• Practising and modelling social distancing measures
• Liaising with support providers to ensure we are adequately supporting residents
• Providing updated information to residents as it comes to hand
• Providing extra cleaning equipment to our residents for their use
• Increasing our cleaning regime for the community house
• Reducing, but not stopping weekday staff contact hours at the HOPES site. 

We are continuing to review the situation, receive updates and respond as required to work together to stay safe at this time.
